It’s Still Summer!

While biking into work today in the 45 degree air it was hard reminding myself that technically it is still summer! Fall doesn’t officially start until the Autumnal Equinox on September 22. Which means this weekend is really the last weekend of Summer.

You may remember that I made “Summer” 2012 Goals to make sure I enjoyed and lived up summer. The goals are rewritten below with how I am doing so far. They weren’t all accomplished how I had hoped, but I got close enough to call it a success!

#1 State Fair/Outdoor Concert (Done!)

#2 Go Fishing! (I went last friday with my boyfriend and his family.)

#3 Re-start workouts! (Doing it! Jillian Michaels’ Ripped in 30!)

#4 Go to a Minnesota Twins Game (Done!)

#5 Do a few lake swims with the intention of “training” for a triathlon. (did not do and you are crazy if you think I’m getting in the lake now!)

#6 Make a frozen dessert (I made a delicious frozen lemon pie that was a bit of a failure at first….but thats a story for another day.)

#7 Go to a movie in the park! (Missed this one and don’t live in Duluth anymore, bummer.)

#8 Go on a road trip! (Last weekend I attended both a Minnesota Twins Game and a Vikings Game with my boyfriend and his parents. It wasn’t an unfamiliar location, but we did have to drive so I’m counting it).

#9 Go to the Zoo! (I still am going to try and fit this in).

#10 Have a Kebab party with tons of variations of grilled deliciousness. (I have grilled quite a bit this summer, but have been too busy to invite people over for grilling. Last night I actually grilled my sweet potato fries, but there was a small error on the burners and one side ended up too charred to take a picture of).

So now with the last weekend of Summer is in front of us I want to spend as much time outside as possible! I’ve got a bridal shower and bachelorette party to attend Saturday afternoon but hopefully Saturday morning I can soak up the outdoor weather while it is still comfortable outside!

Do you have any plans for the weekend?
