17 Weeks until Grandma’s Marathon 2013

I’ve decided its better to count down to Grandma’s Marathon instead of counting each training week. My thoughts are, as the number gets smaller it will seem easier to handle. I am so thankful that I have a friend also training for her first marathon at the same time! Even though we don’t live in the same town we are able to touch base and double check that we’re both not crazy. (okay maybe we’re a little crazy).

After my last post I still had to complete a 6 mile run on Saturday. At this point I’m going to a Friday night 90 minute Yoga Sculpt class. It kicks my butt, and I’m sore on Saturday, but for now I’m enjoying it too much to skip it.

1st Long Run

This is how I chose to fuel for 6 miles, coffee with milk and peanut butter toast. After my run I had another cup of coffee and some chobani yogurt. I didn’t fuel during the run.

While I haven’t quite figure out how I will fuel on my runs, I have noticed my water drinking going through the roof! Here’s the water I consumed on Monday.

Water Bottles

(22 oz, 32 oz, and 24 oz)

This doesn’t include the water I drink at home from regular glasses.

My knee is still bothering me, and the more I discuss it with other people the more comfortable it feels. I’m stretching quite a bit and I’ve started taking a frozen dixie cup to my legs post-run in hopes that helps.

Dixie Cups for Post RunAnd so I’m once again midway through my training week. I’ve got 3 miles to do on Thursday, and 7 miles on Saturday.

And I swear my life is not just running, but it seems like thats all I have to share lately! I will say if you’re looking for a good netflix movie, I really enjoyed Morning Glory! And I made these Meyer Lemon scones on Saturday night, I’m not a baker but they were super easy! I also have a limoncello recipe to share soon!
