Ironman March: Preparation Training

Well Folks, the Swim Sessions are officially completed. And with that I am on to the next portion of my triathlon journey.

I swam and ran on my own on Saturday afternoon. And the rest of Saturday afternoon/evening was spent on my butt watching movies, and tweeting with my good friend Diana about how our triathlon training is going.

Finally, I thought I would share what a typical week currently looks like for me. Its a lot, but with teaching 3 times a week, it has to be that way. I like to think of this as my preparation for training training plan. I think I will be adding another swim and spin session eventually. But for now this is all I can handle!

  1. I am so ADD when it comes to workouts. Besides running I can’t keep a regular workout schedule. Insanity has helped with that a lot during the winter, and with my bum leg I am trying more weight training workouts. Can I mention how much I idolize you for training for a tri?! You rock girl!

  2. I LOVE having plans like yours! For me though lately it’s been kind of ad-lib, mixing days and doing full body workouts somedays as we’ve had visitors and trips. I think having a solid plan especially in training is a sure fire way to keep you on track 🙂 Looks like you are BUSY!!! I’m amazed at how much you’re doing!

  3. I just put together my NYC tri training schedule and it pretty much is the same thing every week. With various distances. I like it like that when I’m training. When I’m not training for anything I sort of do whatever. Its easier to skip workouts when i don’t have a schedule though. I’m going to go back through your swim post. I am so unmotivated to start swimming!

    • Ugh, I totally understand that feeling. But maybe the phrase “avoiding it doesn’t make you better” will help convince you? Also, in a week or two I’ll post my current swim workout. But I’ll give you a sneak peek…warm up, 100, 200, 300, 200, 100. I struggle with the 200s and 300 still.
