Peace Perspective XII: Love and Be Loved

This pin as been in my drafts folder for a while. I wanted to choose it, but I was afraid to post it. I’m not in a relationship right now, yet I have happiness in life.

Love and Be LovedMake no mistake,  I’m not happy 100% of every day. I have my insecurities, I make plenty of mistakes, and there are a lot of things I’m “working on”.

While I may not be happy 100% of the time, there are people I love 100% of the time. Sure some days are better than others, but surrounding myself with the right people has been very important.

What this pin is missing, is that you must also work on loving yourself. Your body is the only one you will ever have. You control the thoughts that go through your mind. When you want to make a choice that will give you some instant pleasure but ultimate regret, its up to you to work through everything and make the right choice.

Do what you can, love who you love, and find a little bit of happiness in each day. As my horoscope said earlier this week….

“TAURUS (April 20-May 20). It takes the same amount of time to see the bright side of life as it does to see the depressing side. The difference is that when you look for sunshine, you’ll be energized by your findings. ” You can read your horoscope each day here.

Do you agree with this quote? Or do you find your happiness elsewhere?

  1. I love that pin. I actually think your interpretation is much more accurate than what I’m guessing the intended interpretation is. If you can’t love yourself, loving others and accepting love from others is soooo much harder! Loving myself has been a huge theme in my blog (and my life) the last several months. I think it’s SUPER important, and we should all work on it if we’re not “there”. Also, the quote at the end is so true! It fails to mention that for some people, seeing the depressing side is so automatic that it can become super difficult to see anything else. But if you can work on that, the results are SO totally worth it.

  2. The biggest challenge I have overcome (and most proud of) is learning to love myself and be comfortable in my own skin. I still have a long ways to go and have moments of weakness, but for me it has led me to make great decisions that have made me happy.

  3. “While I may not be happy 100% of the time, there are people I love 100% of the time.” – so wise, so true, and i definitely agree about loving yourself first 🙂 such a great post.

  4. I like this quote. There is more to love than just a significant other. As you mentioned, there’s yourself, your friends, and family. Love away people!
