Peace Perspective: XX: Summer

When does Summer start for you? Technically it is June 21September 21. But I fully believe in the Memorial Day – Labor Day “Summer” Season.

peacexvI’m a bit confused this year because the last weekend of May isn’t Memorial, and the way things are going, I will be in the Twin Cities three weekends in a row! Last weekend was supposed to be spending time with family, but I was sick, this weekend is celebrating my cousin’s college graduation, and next weekend is spending time with friends!

This is a great goal for the summer. While I love sharing things on the blog. Some things just need to be felt. Fully. Without distraction.

Most of my weekends are already filled with at least one activity. But there is always room for more. Especially during the week. I tend to get stuck in a rut, but I’m hoping to live a little more this summer.

When does Summer start for you? Do you have any summer plans?

    • That would be great! I’ll be biking around the lakes on Saturday, and Sunday it sounds like I’ll be going to Grand Old Days in the morning. It should be a good busy weekend!

    • Will you be bringing your own peanut butter? or will nutella suffice?

  1. My summer plans? Make walking through my neighborhood a regular activity. I was actually going to say that I don’t have any summer plans (I am SO not outdoorsy, so the changing of the seasons usually doesn’t matter to me much). But the more that I thought about it, the more that I realized that I really really want to take advantage of the weather as I’m working to build more exercise into my life. So woohoo! I have summer plans!! **Happy dance**

Also, I’m really tempted to be all “you’ll have to let us know how your summer plans go!” But given that the whole point of them is to experience them fully without sharing with others…haha yeah. Well, I hope this is a great growth experience for you, even if we don’t get to hear about it!! 🙂

    • Haha, plenty of my summer plans will be shared, but some moments will hopefully be special enough to be kept secret 😉 And yes, being a little more active always seems a bit easier in the summer!

  2. i feel ya on needing things to be felt to be shared — and summer started this weekend (i mean, the pools opened and the rooftops are busy, so it’s definitely summer) 🙂

  3. I’m kind of in the Memorial Day – Labor Day summer boat. I feel like it’s summer now since the weather warmed up!
I hate how crazy busy summer gets, but I love all of the fun things. I think right now the highlight of my summer is a trip we have planned up to Biwabik for golfing and hiking in July. It’ll be fun!
