*Here’s an old school style post. I’ve come a long way in my blogging life, but sometimes it feels good to just type and publish.
I thought I had done a decent job of blogging my way to my first half marathon back in 2012. Turns out…I didn’t do a weekly recap, and now I wish I had! I did do a full review of the race which was the 2012 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.
Remember last week how I said I was going attempting a Summer Workout Plan? Read for the good news and bad news?
Bad News: I’m not biking today.
Good News: I biked Tuesday morning and ran Monday evening!
Not Surprising News: My training is not where it should be to complete a Half Marathon in 3 weeks. Winter was a beast. But I’m determined to do short distance runs 3 times a week for this week and next week. My taper will be just the week of the race, and will be my scheduled sculpt classes and my Tuesday morning bike ride.
Confused? Me Too. This race is usually the highlight of my year, but this year my thoughts are scared for my first sprint triathlons.
I’ve reserved a dorm room at UMD to stay, now I’m wishing I had reserved an apartment so I could have air conditioning and a kitchen, but if I do the full next year, I will plan more appropriately.
I wish I had someone specifically coming to the race to be with me, but I know there will be plenty of people racing that I know, but its always nice to have someone spectating for you. If you want to come to the race and hang out with me, I’ve got an extra bed in the dorm room!
