Peace Perspective XXXVII: Goals and Methods

It’s Sunday! Last Fall my Pinterest was full of people pinning cute photos of “Fall To-Do lists” this year I haven’t seen many, and I hope its because everyone is out doing things instead of pinning them.

Goals and MethodsMy personal goals for the Fall are to continue on the path I’m on. September has every weekend booked with something fun, and while that meant I had to turn down some events, I was able to spend time with a great mix of people.

My 2015 workout goal is still a mystery (usually I know what it is by now). I hope to complete a Half Ironman by the time I turn 30. Which means I have three summers to do it. I’m not stubborn about the goal yet, but I am definitely flexible with which methods I go about getting there.

What are your favorite methods for getting stuff done?

  1. I had a bucket list for summer but I only achieved about half of the items! But I guess I did more than I might have if I hadn’t made the list. That said, I am not making a list of fall as it feels like it’s going to be very busy so I am just going to try to go with the flow! I do set goals in January but I usually only set 3-4 goals. I’ve achieved 3 and will achieve the 4th one by the end of the year (it’s a # of books to read in a year goal). I don’t know what goals I will set in 2015. I feel like the last several years have had these massive goals, like passing these big finance tests and finding a job (I was relocated to Charlotte, NC last year so my main goal this year was moving back). In a way, I kind of want to give myself a break in 2015 and plan some smaller goals but we’ll see what I come up with by the end of the year!

    • When I started blogging I had 12 new years resolutions, some of them were very easy, but it was definitely too much. I love small goals!

  2. oh gosh, i have a fall-to-do list, but i think i have so many other weddings, baby showers, birthdays, etc, this year that i’m more focused on getting everything done then finding new things to explore 🙂

  3. I like to tell someone, anyone what my goals are. If I just keep them to myself it’s so much easier to let them slide. I did a goals post for August on my blog, and while I didn’t accomplish everything, I know I did way more than I would have if it had just been a list taped up next to my computer 🙂

    • That’s awesome! I’ve tried monthly goals in the past, but I’m not as good about accomplishing them. I work better on long term goals.
