Cheers to 3 Years! #blogiversary

Hello Friends! Today marks 3 years of Katie Looking Forward posts. My first post was outlining half of my 2012 New Years Resolutions. Last year I had grand plans for a blog giveaway but it never came to be.

Katie Looking Forward 2012The above photo was what I first used as my profile picture. It was taken in Mexico, but I thought it was a good way of representing my love of Northern MN.

My first posts were all words, no images. As I grew more comfortable taking photos and sharing about my life, my blog slowly grew.

Katie Cummings by Glimpses of SoulAttending the 2012 Minnesota Bloggers Conference was a learning curve. I discovered that I was blogging from wordpress.com which has positives and negatives. After the Healthy Living Summit I was given the opportunity to start working with brands, and finally made the switch to wordpress.org.

Katie Cummings 2014 Glimpses of SoulThis year I attended the 2014 Minnesota Bloggers Conference and had another headshot taken by Glimpses of Soul. As you can see from the two pictures, not much as changed. Especially in what I feel most comfortable wearing.

And I like that way. I’m learning and growing, but staying true to myself. And that is important.

What is the same for you in the past three years? What has changed?

    • Thanks! I know, my hair is getting a little out of control, I’m thinking it will be donate-able this spring…..but I usually like long hair in the summer, so I’m not sure what I will do!

  1. Happy Blogoversary! So much has changed for me in the last 3 years as I’ve been through a lot of change. Some things that are the same are the condo building and floor I am living on, my love for Minneapolis, and the fact that 90% of what I wear comes from Banana Republic. Things that are different are that I’m in a great relationship, have a new job, and have been diagnosed with a chronic illness (RA).

    • The diagnosis isn’t fun, but how amazing to have a great relationship, and that Banana is still making clothes you love! When I had my first job I loved their no iron button ups, and who knows, I might have another job someday that requires I dress up again!

    • Thank you my dear! And especially thank you for taking the time to comment, I can’t wait to read more about your chicago life!

  2. CONGRATS! I’m so happy I discovered your blog & hope to get to actually meet you someday! And I love the same shirt in both those pics–I have those things that I obviously love bc they show up on repeat in my pics. 🙂 Congrats again!

  3. Congrats! I love that we have connected through our blogs 🙂 In the last three years, I have moved 3 times. Two different states and two different jobs.

    • Three moves? Good for you! I may be moving in the next year, but am seriously hoping I can buy so that I don’t have to deal with moving….I hate moving.
