Peace Perspective XLVII: Journey for 2015

While Thanksgiving has passed, and Christmas is still 25 days away, I’m thinking about New Years. For the last 4 years I’ve know what my fitness New Years Resolution was going to be long before November. This year I haven’t been as focused.

Peace JourneyI like to think that not knowing what my big goal is it will allow me to go on a journey I can’t even imagine. That prospect seems scary, but hopefully there is a reason for my indecision.

Do you have a New Years Resolution for 2015 yet? Will you think of one?

  1. I don’t really do resolutions but I do set goals for myself in January. But this year is the first year in several years where I don’t have a huge goal I am working towards… So my list of goals will probably focus on smaller things, which I suppose is ok. Like you, I just sort of want to see where life takes me in 2015

  2. I feel the same way as you. I think a general life resolution for me is to try to be present more often and let go of things not in my control. Fitness-wise, I just want to continue to build my fitness back up, doing so in a smart way that keeps me injury free (minus my ankle issues!)

  3. I had huge running goals for 2012 and I tore my ACL and then huge running goals for 2013 and I got pregnant. My goal for 2014 was to run healthy and happy and it has been beautifully freeing and allowed me to just enjoy the moment I’m in. I will set a more concrete goal for 2015, but just not sure what yet. Hopefully a marathon!

  4. I’m not a big resolutions type of gal but I do tend to reflect this time of year & do some goal-setting. I’m actually quickly approaching a big transitional period as my time as a SAHM will be ending since my kids are getting to be school-aged. So lots of goals for the next year to set myself up for once they are in school full-time.

  5. I’m working on setting my goals for 2015, one of which is to finally run a half-marathon. It’s been on my “I want to do this” list for quite a while now and I’ve never gotten around to it. I will in 2015!

    • Awesome!! What time of the year? Do you have a race in mind? (Please don’t do women rock, its usually very hot/not safe running weather).

      • Working on the training plan now, but thinking about doing the Illinois Half in Champaign-Urbana (my grad school alma mater) in late April. The finish line is the 50-yard line of Memorial Stadium.

Good advice about Women Rock. I stay away from Team Ortho races. They’re expensive and I’ve had one too many really bad experiences with them.
