Joy:  Trying

Over the past year I have been trying to be open to possibilities. I don’t want my lack of experience to stop me from trying something new.

You never know what will happen. This weekend I filled my time with flatbread making with family, a going away party for an instagram friend, Harry Potter while the Minnesota Orchestra played, and now I’m about to go to brunch prior to the Vikings game! I know at some point I won’t have this much freedom in my schedule. But while I do have the time available to me, I want to make the most of it. Instead of doing the same things each weekend I want to mix it up and try new things! You never know what might fun.

Do you have a list of things you want to try? What would be on your list?

  1. Wow, you had a fun-filled weekend! My family eats flatbread, too. I can’t have it since I have a gluten intolerance but I loved eating it when I was young. We haven’t had it in years because my grandma is the only one that makes it and she hasn’t made it for many years. But this year my parents are bringing her to their lake home and she’s going to instruct my mom/brother/sister on how to make it. i am bummed I am missing this but we are spending Christmas with Phil’s mom this year. And I wouldn’t be able to eat it, which would have been a bummer, but I hate missing out on things like that!

I used to make bucket lists but these days I’m kind of in a different frame of mind where I’m really trying to simplify and cut down on social events. But once we have a baby I am sure we will start to build a list of kid-friendly things that we want to check out in the metro area!

    • If you aren’t already reading twin cities moms blog, i highly recommend it. I even check out their posts for fun events and kid friendly places as more of my friends start families. I recommend having someone film your grandma as well, it may be a great memory down the road!
