Welcome to Katie Looking Forward, where I’m trying to get out of the work, eat, sleep, repeat routine.

I am a 28 year old Minnesota girl currently residing in St. Paul, and crossing the river into Minneapolis regularly. I also spend plenty of weekends in my hometown of Aitkin (just outside of the Brainerd Lakes Area).

I’m a St. Kate’s MBA student, who loves to take study breaks for local beer or international wine. In 2014 I participated in my first triathlon, and love the challenge of 3 sports in one race. I use yoga, especially yoga sculpt as my preferred stress reliever.

I started running in 2011 with a New Years Resolution to run 5 – 5ks. It was the perfect manageable distance, which has slowly grown into the Dirty Dozen 2012 New Years Resolutions, and completing Grandma’s Marathon on June 22, 2013. I use races to hold myself accountable and motivated to work out on a daily basis.

I dream of many things, but completing a Half Ironman (70.3 miles) is something I hope to accomplish.

  2. I’m so glad I found your blog! It made me smile. My sisters and I love to run, try new things, and set goals for ourselves too. Our favorite way to work out is Crossfit, but we’ve run our share of 5ks, and half marathons too. (We’re not super athletes by ANY means. We just think being active is fun!) One of the most fun races we did together was a sprint triathlon! If you haven’t done one yet, you should! A sprint tri would be great training.

  5. Hi! I am considering doing a Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training through CPY and was looking for personal reviews of it when I saw yours. Would you mind sharing some of your thoughts about it? Such as, did you do it for personal reasons or to be able to teach it in the future? Have you found that you are able to be hired to teach with the training? I really appreciate it!
